The fourth TM-Europe 2011 International Conference will be held in Warsaw, Poland from September 28 to September 30, 2011. The conference will traditionally focus on management issues for the translation and localisation industry and the theme is “Process Management and Standards for the Translation and Localisation Industry”. The conference will feature presentations and panel discussions on project management, business development and process optimization, technology and other translation management topics.

TM-Europe is an international conference for the Translation and Localisation industry and it is also the PSBT annual conference. The 2011 conference will focus on management issues for the translation and localisation industry, with particular emphasis on process management, standards and best practice. TM-Europe 2011 will be held in Warsaw, from 28-30.09.2011, at the Mercure Hotel. The pre-conference day of TM-Europe is the 2nd XLIFF Symposium (28.09.2011) and it will focus on presentations around the XLIFF standard.

The European Union of Associations of Translation Companies’ 2011 international Spring conference takes place in Rome from Friday 8th to Saturday 9th April. The EUATC’s Italian member UNILINGUE is hosting it.
The meeting convenes as the profession faces some significant economic challenges in an increasingly globalised environment and will be tackling them head on.

TM-Europe 2010 International Conference builds on the success of the previous TM-Europe conferences and addresses the needs of translation and localisation service providers, their customers, as well as translation vendors, technology providers and academics traditionally focusing on management issues for the translation and localisation industry. The theme of TM-Europe 2008 was customers, vendors and process management from the global and the local perspective. The theme of TM-Europe 2009 was quality and terminology management.

On 10 April 2010 on the way to commemoration ceremony of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre the President of the Republic of Poland Mr Lech Kaczynski, the First Lady Mrs Maria Kaczynska, members of the polish delegation lost their lives, including MPs, officers, politicians, officials, interpreter and crew – altogether 96 people.

May they rest in peace!

As a result of the EUATC-TILP co-operation, the PSBT hosted an on-site CLP Level 1 training course which was held on 8-12 July 2008 in Warsaw. Project managers and translation professionals from Poland, the Czech Republic and Latvia took part in the one week on-site training conduced by Daniel Goldschmidt. After taking exams all participants in the course have been awarded CLP certificates. The PSBT one-day session on Regional Translation Market, Technology and Quality Standards, Project Management and Localisation Practice and Issues went down very well with the course participants.

The annual conference of the Polish Association of Translation Agencies (PSBT) on translation management (TM-Europe) will be held on 9-10 October at the Warsaw Marriot Hotel.
